    Understanding the ACFT

The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) replaced the APFT and consists of six events designed to assess combat readiness. Each event scores 0-100 points for a maximum total of 600 points.

    Scoring Method

ACFT scoring uses performance tables that assign points based on your result in each event. The minimum passing score is 60 points per event (360 total). Higher performance thresholds exist for certain military occupational specialties (MOS).

    Example 1 (Male, 22-26):
    MDL: 200 lbs → 70 pts | SPT: 10.0 m → 80 pts | HRP: 40 reps → 80 pts
    SDC: 2:00 → 80 pts | PLK: 3:00 → 80 pts | 2MR: 15:30 → 80 pts
    Total: 470 points — PASS
    Example 2 (Female, 27-31):
    MDL: 140 lbs → 60 pts | SPT: 6.0 m → 60 pts | HRP: 20 reps → 60 pts
    SDC: 3:00 → 60 pts | PLK: 2:00 → 60 pts | 2MR: 21:00 → 60 pts
Total: 360 points — PASS (Minimum)

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum passing score for the ACFT?+

The minimum passing score is 60 points per event, totaling 360 points across all six events. You must pass each event individually—failing even one event means failing the entire test.

Are ACFT standards the same for males and females?+

Yes, as of 2022, ACFT standards are gender and age-neutral for the minimum passing score of 60 points per event. However, the performance-to-points conversion tables differ by age and gender for scoring above the minimum.

    What replaced the Leg Tuck?+

The Plank exercise replaced the Leg Tuck as of April 2022. Soldiers hold a proper plank position for time, with 2:00-2:09 earning the minimum 60 points.

How often must I take the ACFT?+

Soldiers must pass a record ACFT at least once per year. Additional diagnostic tests may be conducted for training purposes.

What are the alternate aerobic events?+

Soldiers with permanent profiles may perform alternate events: 2.5-mile walk, 12,000m stationary bike, 1,000m swim, or 5,000m row. These are only available with approved medical profiles.

What weight hex bar is used for the deadlift?+

The ACFT uses a 60-lb hex bar. Weight plates are added in pairs to reach the desired lift weight (60, 70, 80... up to 340 lbs).

Can I rest during the plank?+

No. The timer stops when proper plank form is broken. You get one attempt, and the event ends when you can no longer maintain position.

What equipment is used for Sprint-Drag-Carry?+

SDC uses a 90-lb sled for the drag and two 40-lb kettlebells for the carry portion.

How long do I have between events?+

Soldiers have 2-5 minutes of rest between events, with additional time as needed for moving between stations.

What happens if I fail one event?+

Failing any single event constitutes failing the entire ACFT. Soldiers typically have 90 days to retest after a failure.

Are there different standards for combat arms vs support?+

The minimum passing standard (360 points) is the same for all soldiers. However, certain assignments may require higher scores for selection or promotion.

    How accurate is this calculator?+
