Understanding International Bra Sizing Systems
🇺🇸 US Sizing
Bands: 28-56 (inches). Cups: A, B, C, D, DD, DDD, G, H, I, J, K. Most common in North America.
🇬🇧 UK Sizing
Same bands as US. Cups use double letters: DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H. Standard in Britain, Ireland.
🇪🇺 EU Sizing
Bands: 60-120 (cm). Cups: A-K. Used in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Scandinavia.
🇦🇺 AU/NZ Sizing
Bands: 6-30 (dress sizes). Cups similar to UK. AU band = US - 22.
🇫🇷 FR/ES Sizing
Bands: 75-135. FR = EU + 15. Used in France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium.
🇮🇹 Italian Sizing
Bands: 1-12 (numbered). IT = (US-28)/2. Cups follow EU letters.

International Shopping Tips
- Always check the brand's specific size chart - conversions are approximate
- US and UK bands are identical; only cup letters differ after DD
- EU/FR sizes are in centimeters; add 15 to EU for French sizing
- Australian sizes match dress sizes (AU 12 = US 34)
- Japanese sizing is similar to EU (in centimeters)
- When in doubt, use measurements rather than converted sizes
Frequently Asked Questions
US and UK band sizes are identical (32, 34, 36, etc.). Cup sizes are the same up to DD. After that: US DDD = UK E, US G = UK F, US H = UK FF, US I = UK G, US J = UK GG. UK uses double letters (FF, GG) while US continues single letters (G, H, I).
EU 75B equals US 34B. To convert EU bands to US: subtract 10, divide by 2.54, round to nearest even number. 75 - 10 = 65, 65 ÷ 2.54 ≈ 25.6 + 8 = 33.6 ≈ 34. Cup B is the same in both systems.
Australian (and NZ) sizes use dress-size numbers for bands: 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, etc. To convert: AU band = US band - 22. So AU 12 = US 34, AU 14 = US 36. Cup letters are similar to UK sizing with double letters (DD, E, F, FF, G, GG, H).
French sizing uses centimeter bands like EU but adds 15cm. French band = EU band + 15. So FR 90 = EU 75 = US 34. French cup letters follow the EU system (A, B, C, D, E, F, G...). Spain and Portugal also use French sizing.
Italian sizes use numbered bands 1-12 instead of measurements. IT 1 = US 30, IT 2 = US 32, IT 3 = US 34, etc. Each Italian number represents 2 inches. Cups follow the EU letter system.
